Artificial Grass is Environmentally Conscious

ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS OF SYNTHETIC GRASS
Going Green Never Looked So Good!
The American obsession for a "natural" luscious green lawn has come with a slue of negative environmental impacts. Know that you are making a positive impact on our environment by replacing your conventional turf with artificial turf.
Our artificial grass is lead-free, recycleable and made in the USA.
Converting to Artificial Grass:
Conserves water
The average American yard uses approximately 41,690 gallons of water a year. In many urban areas, 30%-60% of water consumption goes to lawn care with half of that water being wasted due to inappropriate timing or dosage. >>More about water conservation
Reduces the use of fertilizer
3,000,000 tons of fertilizer (much of which is fossil-fuel derived) is used annually to maintain green lawns. It is estimated that 60% of the nitrogen applied to lawns ends up in our ground water. Contaminated water can cause disease in humans and affect the quality of our rivers and lakes as well as adversely effect the animals in them. In addition, fossil fuels are wasted with the production and distribution of these fertilizers.
Reduces the use of pesticides
Urban/Suburban application accounts nearly 40% of U.S. pesticide use. In the U.S. 67 million pounds of synthetic pesticides are used yearly. Our ground and surface water is easily contaminated by pesticides. Heath effects of pesticide exposure include increased risk of certain cancers, birth defects, problems with fertility, liver damage, neurological problems, allergies and chemical sensitivity. 3% of pesticides will be tracked into your home with significant traces detectable a year after original exposure. And not only is human health effected, but the majority of pesticides are toxic to fish, birds and bees.
Reduces green waste
In the U.S. we produce over 160 million tons of solid waste yearly. Yard waste is the second largest contributor and lawn clippings account for 3/4 of yard waste. When lawn clippings break down in the landfill, methane (a greenhouse gas) is emitted.
Reduces pollution from lawn-care equipment
According to the EPA, gas mowers account for 5% of U.S. air pollution. That easy to understand when you lean that pollutants emitted from a gas mower running for one hour is equal to eight new cars driving 55 mph for the same amount of time! Imagine the impact of 54 million Americans mow their lawns every week- totaling 800 million gallons of gas used per year. 55 tons of VOCs (a chemical that causes health problems and global warming) is emitted from our lawn care equipment each year. In addition, the environmental impact is worsened as an estimated 17 million gallons of fuel (mostly gas) are spilled each year during the refueling of lawn-care equipment. This causes groundwater contamination and ozone deterioration.
